Induction into the Alumni Hall of Fame — The Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to honor alumni who have achieved success in their lives and careers. The first inductees include alumni who have received the distinguished alumnus of the year award since its establishment in 1985. They were inducted on October 6, 2002 during PA Day ceremonies held at the Duke University Medical Center.

In addition to the distinguished alumnus of the year selected and presented an award in May during graduation ceremonies, the PA Alumni Steering Committee selects other alumni to be inducted into the Hall of Fame each October.

Selection Criteria — Graduates of the Duke University Physician Assistant Program are eligible for this distinction. Selection criteria include:

  • significant and lasting contributions to the success of the PA profession
  • significant contributions to advancing and improving clinical, education, research and management outcomes
  • performing outstanding services that improve the health and welfare of local, national and international communities
  • financial support and personal service to the Duke University Physician Assistant Division
