Since 1967, the Duke University Physician Assistant Program has graduated many talented and dedicated physician assistants who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the physician assistant profession. A significant number of Duke University PA alumni have achieved recognition in health care, education, research and development, management, and entrepreneurship. The Alumni Hall of Fame profiles the achievements of prominent alumni to provide a source of inspiration for students, alumni, faculty and staff of the Duke University PA Program and the academic community of Duke University.
The Hall of Fame was established in 2002 to honor alumni who have achieved success in their lives and careers. The first inductees include alumni who have received the distinguished alumnus of the year award since its establishment in 1985. They were inducted on October 6, 2002 during PA Day ceremonies held at the Duke University Medical Center.
In addition to the distinguished alumnus of the year selected and presented an award in May during graduation ceremonies, the PA Alumni Steering Committee selects other alumni to be inducted into the Hall of Fame each October.
